Our Commitment to Privacy

Polaris is built with privacy as its foundation. Unlike other spam filters that upload your data to the cloud, Polaris runs 100% on your device. Your personal messages and notifications never leave your phone.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Polaris does not collect, store, transmit, or share:

• Personal Information: We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identifiers
• Notification Content: Your notifications are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to our servers
• Usage Data: We don't track how you use the app or collect analytics
• Location Data: We don't access or collect your location
• Contacts: We don't access your contact list
• Device Information: We don't collect device identifiers or hardware information

How Polaris Works

Polaris uses a custom-trained TensorFlow Lite machine learning model that runs entirely on your device. When a notification arrives:

1. The notification content is analyzed locally by the AI model
2. The model determines if the notification is spam
3. If spam is detected, the notification is filtered according to your settings
4. All processing happens on your device—nothing is sent to external servers

Permissions Explained

Polaris requires the following permissions to function:

• Notification Access: Required to read and filter incoming notifications. This data is processed locally and never transmitted.

We request only the minimum permissions necessary for the app to function. We do not request permissions for contacts, location, camera, microphone, or storage.

No Account Required

Polaris works right out of the box. There is no login, no signup, and no account creation. This means we have no way to identify you or link any data to you.

No Internet Required

Polaris works completely offline. The app does not require an internet connection to function, which means no data can be transmitted from your device.

Local Data Storage

Polaris stores the following data locally on your device only:

• App Settings: Your preferences and configuration options
• Blocked Notifications History: A local log of filtered notifications so you can review and restore them if needed
• Statistics: Aggregated counts of blocked spam for the statistics feature

This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

Third-Party Services

Polaris does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app is distributed through Google Play Store, which is subject to Google's own privacy practices.

Children's Privacy

Polaris does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
